1. What is a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant (VA) is an administrative professional who provides customized support services to businesses and individuals who do not have the time, ability, or resources to perform a particular task themselves. Services are offered from the VA's office, using technology such as the telephone, fax, e-mail and the Internet to communicate with clients.

3. What are the benefits of working with a VA?
By hiring a VA you will be able to:
• save time and money on employee-related requirements (see question #4;)
• concentrate on other important aspects of your life or business;
• better service your own clients, partners and/or employers;

4. Why hire a VA instead of a temp?
Those that hire VAs need not worry about:
• providing extra office space or equipment;
• paying employee-related taxes, benefits or insurance;
• providing extensive training;
• paying for employee downtime such as breaks or personal matters (VAs charge only for hours worked and material spent on projects/tasks;)
• finding assistance on an on-call basis, wherever you are and whenever you need it;
• inconsistencies in projects/tasks because work had been performed by several people; or
• finding a professional that can adapt to office needs and client schedules

Some clients prefer to communicate by telephone, while others prefer email or a combination. It all depends on the client's work style and the job that needs to be done.
